For the Web 3.0 Festival, Ian Campbell Cole and I conducted generative AI workshops, allowing guests to explore and experiment with image generation tools for the first time. We facilitated open discussions on the applications of these tools in an educational setting. The festival concluded with a series of keynote speakers, where Ian and I presented our work with generative AI within a product design context. We explained the frameworks we implemented to help and engage students with the broad use and context of these emerging technologies.

This approach provided a simple and engaging way for members of the public and academics to be introduced to these tools, maintaining a spirit of delight and surprise. It allowed for wider engagement beyond product design, interacting with members of the art and design school and the public. The event showcased both the joys and pitfalls of using generative AI in the creative process.
